Indian stone paving refers to pavers, cobbles, and other products made from stones quarried in India. While Indian sandstone paving is the most well-known, there are also a number of beautiful limestone and granite varieties sourced from India, too.

“One of my favourite products is the Mint Fossil sandstone due to the amazing natural features that can be found. Historically, there have been many fossil-type stones found in this product due to these being from ancient riverbeds or shallow seas millions of years ago. I also love the Raj Green Sandstone. We sell the pure colour, unlike a lot of companies that offer the blend, and I love how versatile this product is. The colouring sits within nature and suits all property types. Due to this, I love all the different variations we offer in the Raj Green sandstone, such as the coping stones, edgings, driveway cobbles and bullnosed steps.”
Is Indian Stone Porous?
Paving porosity has both benefits and drawbacks. The textured surface provides excellent slip resistance but also creates a higher risk of water damage and staining.
Granite is the least porous of our Indian stone pavers; however, flamed granite is specially treated for a rougher texture, which creates higher porosity.
Indian limestone offers high porosity and slip resistance. Meanwhile, lighter colours in our Indian sandstone paving have higher porosity than darker hues.
If you love the look of our more porous paving stones but worry about maintenance, sealing Indian stone will make the slabs far more water-resistant and seal in the stunning colour.

Ethical sourcing is extremely important when purchasing paving products from overseas. This means ensuring that overseas suppliers hold an SA800 certificate, which confirms ethical working conditions across the entire supply chain.
