East One – Apartment Complex

The Start

When our client working on the construction of the East One Apartment complexes first approached us, they wanted something unique, practical, and ideally suited to their project.

Now the project is complete, both our client and us at RF, know we have not just achieved the brief, we’ve exceeded it, and let’s take you on the journey of how we achieved the stunning results.

So, let’s go back to the beginning, when our client came to us to discuss their vision for the East One apartment complex.

They wanted to create a modern, contemporary, outdoor aesthetic that complemented the impressive and expansive London skyline, which some of the East One apartment boast incredible views of, whist achieving the required installation method, and safety standards.

Colours Chosen

It was decided that two colours could achieve this goal: Grey and Beige.

To streamline the decision-making, we put together one of our infamous sample boxes, which was presented to the client. The presentation box displays a range of physical samples, allowing the products to be handled, viewed, and taken site to view in-situ on the project. We presented a range of around 10 samples, from Aequa Bianco Porcelain to our Aged Crema, all with unique characteristics, price points, and different tones of the two chosen colours of Grey or Beige.

The decision came quickly after. Our client deciding that Beige was the chosen colour for this particular project, and that our Earth Bone 600×600 porcelain pavers, would perfectly complement the London Skyline, East Ones’ interior styling, and would be aesthetic appealing in complimenting the other materials being used, making the space bright and open, at the same time as matching the stone used within the construction.

After picking the desired paver, there was also a need one of our raised laying systems.

It is extremely difficult to lay porcelain paving traditionally on most high rises, mainly because it adds unnecessary weight to the building, causes drainage issues, and having a permanent floor limit what can be done with regards to water disposal and electrics.

Laying System Solutions

Here is where our A1 Fire-Rated Adjustable Pedestal systems come into play; they offer a fireproof, easy to instal option, for commercial and residential clients that require the benefits of this system. The system takes away unnecessary weight from the building project, whilst creating better drainage, and voids beneath the finished floor surface for cables to be run underneath for the likes of outdoor lighting, or any outdoor electrical appliances the resident wants to use.

After paver was chosen from the bespoke Sample Pack, we supplied full sized samples of both the paving and the A1 fire rated adjustable pedestal system. Once everything was confirmed, and the order placed we then worked with the client on the delivery schedule, to the notoriously tricky in Central London location.

Transport

Our fleet of trucks are perfectly suited for these situations. The brand new rigid trucks, that meet the safety specifications required in Central London, with demountable Moffett forklift trucks, meant delivery was a breeze, and our clients were thrilled with the level of service. Often, third party carrier services often can incur issues when delivering heavy goods in such a congested destination.

If you have a large commercial project or even a small residential one, contact us today, and we will ensure that we achieve your desired results working with you from the design stage all the way through to the finished result.
