When Gemma at the Markland Home started her home renovation, we couldn’t wait to be part of the garden design and to supply her the porcelain paving she needed for her project. We had spoken with Gemma over the past few years about working together and her new garden project was the perfect opportunity.
Gemma came over to visit RF Paving at the HQ in Doncaster and met with the team to discuss her garden project and what she wanted to achieve with her outdoor paving tiles.
Gemma wanted light outdoor porcelain paving to match what she currently had in the kitchen. The brief was a large format tile with a very light grey colouring, not beige.
We looked at different options such as Aged Quartz White Porcelain and Wals Bianco Porcelain but after looking at all of our porcelain paving products, Gemma came to the decision that it was the Chorus White Porcelain Paving that she loved. Due to having a large garden space of approx 160sqm, Gemma opted for a large format tile in 600x1200x2cm to minimise the grout needed.
In Gemma’s garden design, large steps have been created to separate the two tiers of the garden that was eventually going to be fitted with glass balustrade. The landscaper created these steps using the porcelain paving, achieving a seamless finish.
Gemma was keen to tie in all of aspects of her garden design so also opted to use the porcelain tiles as work surfaces for an outdoor kitchen that she made herself. The porcelain paving slabs cover 3 areas in her garden which wrap around the back of the house, with the main patio coming out from her large open plan kitchen.
As porcelain paving has a high slip rating and low maintenance characteristics, this was a perfect choice for the outdoor space that Gemma wanted to create. As the patio area was going to include a dining area, hot tub space as well as an entertaining area, it was very important to choose a product that would be low maintenance whilst still looking clean and contemporary. Chorus White Porcelain Paving fitted the brief.
