The House Build – Marble Lux Range Explored

The House Build – Tile Project

Have you ever fantasised about building your own dream home? Where would you start? Where would you build it? What would it look like? How many rooms would it have? The list of questions is endless.

In late August of 2017, we were fortunate enough to meet another lovely couple who were embarking on such a fantasy. They came across our RF Tiles showroom whilst searching online for their ideal tiles for there new build family home. They explained their story to us, taking our team through their journey, the ideas they had in mind for their family home, and how they wanted to create that perfect image through the tiles they chose.

She informed us that she likes things to be minimalistic, but still have that warm, homely touch. Over a coffee, we browsed through the Keope brochure, highlighting images she liked and creating a mood board of colours and images which stood out. The colour palette became quite obvious after a short while, we knew that we were working with silver, greys and classic beige tones. Throughout the consultation, she kept mentioning how she loved a classic hotel finish, a glamourous, eye-catching entrance, with warm lighting for a softer touch. From the information we gathered we could then select a couple of range of tiles for the couple to choose from.

For the entrance hallway they wanted to create a light, welcoming yet luxurious feel, however not taking away the thought that this house is a family home. The choice was made to use the Elements Design range in Ivory, and to boarder this with the Elements Lux Crema Beige. The two chosen tiles complement each other incredibly, the Elements Design range is very subtle and simple, ideal for creating a minimalistic area. However, when partnered up with the Elements Lux Range, which mirrors the characteristics of natural marble, a modern, lavish finish can be created. The light hits the warm beige marble effect porcelain tiles, grabbing your attention straight away. There is not a chance anyone could walk through this hallway without noticing the impeccable design and tiles used to create this opening statement entrance.

Once you leave the glistening hallway, you are then introduced to the grand, open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. The greatness of the space available for this area allowed them to choose two different designs to split the space, however still allowing them to work as one continuing area. After choosing the Elements Lux range for the hallway, she had fallen in love, she knew she wanted to use this collection throughout the house. They had already chosen their kitchen, so we knew that we were working with greys, silvers and white tones. Because this space is so large, we believed that a neutral tile with natural markings would suit the area, this would allow for a softer feel rather than a plain tile which could look quite harsh is such a vast area. With this in mind, they decided upon the Back Silver tiles to flow from the lounge to the kitchen. The grey tiles create a contemporary, modern feel, however not to cold for a home.

They decided that they wanted to break the lounge off from the kitchen, to emphasises that it is a different space, they chose to do this by changing the design of the Back Silver tiles layout. Again, as we learnt from the early stages we knew how much she loved the Elements Lux collection, so we introduced her to the Silver Grey tiles. She loved these straight away and knew she wanted to incorporate them into the design. The decision was made to use these tiles as a border around each individual tile. This time-consuming choice paid off, as the final piece is simply beautiful.

It was chosen to carry out the same colour themes through the entire house, using similar tiles in the ensuite bathrooms and the main family bathroom. For their sons’ room, they wanted to create a more of a masculine shower room yet still having a glamorous touch. The choice of Back Silver was picked for both the wall and floor, with a full-length section of Elements Lux Calacatta.

A slightly opposite approach was taken for the main family bathroom and the master ensuite. Again, the Elements Lux Range was chosen to break the matt tiles up, however more beige, natural shades were chosen for a warmer homely touch.

After several months of continuous hard work and setbacks, we were invited around to view the finished project. As soon as we entered the house you could feel that this house was created exactly for there family as you would not imagine them in any other home. From every small detail in every aspect of the house, from the design to the layout and the furnishing, it had their names written all over it.

We are extremely pleased to say that they are over the moon with their dream home, and we are so happy to have been able to support them along the way choice of tiles and designs.
